KEY TAKE AWAYS:
- "The silver tsunami" is one of the things we're seeing in the market at the moment, quite a few of the transactions that we're doing valuations for are for succession planning.
- Baby Boomers and Gen X are starting to leave their business, heading to retirement, and are looking for somebody to purchase their business, or take care of it for them.
- (Their business) is something that they've built up over their lifetime, so we've seen quite a few transactions in that space now.
- We are doing quite a number of pre-sale valuations so that they know the worth before they go to market, and particularly because they're looking at selling the whole business, not just necessarily the rent roll.
- Also (pre-sale valuations) for mortgage security for the purchaser who is looking for funding to go ahead with the purchase.
